JAfro II :6. 20202021

 「20202021」は、あの特別な時代――2020年と2021年―の音の日記。

隔離、不安、忍耐、そして祈りに包まれた日々の記憶を音に刻んだ作品。

小川慶太君の紹介で、彼の長年の友人である僧侶・里見呂明さんにコンタクトをとりました。

ありがたいことに、この作品のために読経を捧げてくださり、

亡くなられた方々への追悼の祈りを音に刻むことができました。

まだ直接お会いしたことはありませんが、いつかお寺を訪ねたいと思っています。

ちなみに、この曲は20小節、20小節、20小節、そして21小節という構成で書かれています。

“20202021” is my reflection on that extraordinary period—the years 2020 and 2021. 

It serves as a musical diary of isolation, uncertainty, resilience, and remembrance, 

as well as a prayer for those we lost.

Keita introduced me to his longtime friend, the Buddhist monk Ryomei Satomi, 

who generously contributed a Buddhist chant to honor and mourn the dead. 

Although we have yet to meet in person, I hope to visit his temple one day.

As a small structural detail, the piece is built on a sequence of 20-, 20-, 20-, and 21-bar sections.
